Welcome to Johns Creek

Business and technology center valuing natural landscapes and community well-being

Upon entering the city of Johns Creek, it’s impossible not to marvel at how established roots and stunning natural scenery provide the foundation of this bustling center of commerce. Southwest of Lake Lanier and 45 minutes from the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the southern border of Johns Creek is defined by the ambling Chattahoochee River. The city is a vibrant blend of protected outdoor recreational land, trendy suburbs, and a thriving community of professionals.

The land occupied by Johns Creek has a long history that dates back to the Cherokee Nation, but the city itself wasn’t officially incorporated until 2006. Its major growth is attributed to the development of Technology Park in the 1980s, which was founded by a group of graduates from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Modeled after the nearby success of Peachtree Corners, Johns Creek quickly became a business and technology center that drew a large number of new residents.

The rise in population and the city’s new identity as a technology and business hub necessitated new residential housing. Consequently, much of the housing in Johns Creek was built in the 1980s or afterward. Detached single-family units comprise most of the homes, many of which are luxury homes built within gated communities. Though Johns Creek is brimming with custom Neo-Eclectic houses whose style denotes a blend of architectural trends, often seated adjacent to country clubs and golf courses, you’ll also encounter plenty of new-build townhomes in quiet enclaves and sophisticated contemporary estates.

What to Love
